I think he actually got drafted partly because of how he looks. Remember how Whaley was going on about how EJ "looks and acts like a franchise quarterback"? Whaley literally drafted EJ partly because of his size and charm. Of course, appearances don't have much to do with QB talent (well, size does). Maybe EJ acted confident and assured in his interviews because he is used to deference as a function of the fact he's huge and people like his face. Who says looks don't matter?
