I'm not for either side, I just feel like the "leash" we have on Israel is doing more harm than good...

At one time, launching a military attack on another nation risked not only retaliation but annihilation
But when Hamas or some other terrorist group launches an attack on Israel, they know in advance that whatever Israel does in response will be limited by calls for a cease-fire, backed by political and economic pressures from the United States.

We give them 4 billy a year and they wouldn't even sniff a worthwhile existence without our support, we have every right in the world to tell them what to do. If you really wanted to take the leash off of Israel you wouldn't feel the need to "take a side." What do you mean by "limited response," have you seen the body count on the Palestinian side thus far? If you are advocating for them to get wiped out I won't argue with you, but Americans shouldn't be the ones paying for it.

It seems like you value Israel's right to exterminate the people of Gaza more than the right of the people of Gaza to have a decent life.

And there has been humanitarian law that required warring factions to restrict their attacks in various ways since ancient times. What's being asked of Israel isn't "unprecedented" it's simply in accord with centuries of established international humanitarian law.

Perhaps you think Israel should have the liberty to not observe such laws though.
