Exactly. This aint TV. Most people are delusional thanks to movies and social media. At least one party, often times both are settling in most relationships.

Both are more likely to feel like they're settling if they both peaked when they were young (HS to early 20s) and now they're older and can't do any better than each other since they don't have youthful looks and clout anymore. Like the former college football player or practice squad NFL player who's now a personal trainer in his 30s with the chick who had the IG model look when she was young who's now in her 30s and can't compete with younger women. They're both comparing each other to what they had access to at their peaks.

Yeah I've said this to people in real life. The majority of people have that one that got away or what they feel is their one true love where circumstances of some sort lead to it not working out. Love is a bytch. It takes perfect timing.
In the long run it doesn't matter if she settled or not. Treat your partner right and be the best partner you can be no matter what and that person's love can surpass the flame they had for the one that got away.

You never wanna be in a position of “earning” a woman’s love who initially felt like she settled for you.

All that means is she “loves” what you do for her, not you. That “earned” love dissipates when conditions or her feelings change. She staying because she don’t have a better option.

A man’s primary focus should be identifying and fulfilling his life’s purpose (and keeping a woman is not a purpose). Everything else falls into place after that (including the right woman).

One of the Simplest ways I’ve learned to know if she’s feels she’s settling? How quickly she’s trying to impress you, to show she wifey/girlfriend material. How quickly she offers to pay for outtings, how quickly she offers to do things for you. Cooking, cleaning, fukk you, etc. When a woman feels she’s batting up she will immediately try to show you her domesticated abilities and whatever money she makes she’ll spend on you .She wants to show you it’s not bout money for her with you. Cause if she smart she wants to prove her help mate qualities. Just my experience.
