Man I played one of those Destiny public events or fire team stages or whatever the fukk it was....man that shyt took 3 hours... had me pissed...thumbs and index fingers hurting like hell

I was like...who has 3 hours to sit around and play games...

Then remembered in college I use to play halo for 10 hours straight...

my thing with multiplayer is it's such a time commitment. I like being able to pause the game if my phone rings, smoke break, etc

Yeah, I get the time commitment part, but don't really mind that. Though pausing a game is crucial. Too many interruptions go on for my game time for me to not be able to pause. I don't play much ranked mp games due to this.

uh oh. I agree with most of these statements :flabbynsick: :manny:

Except I'll willingly put 300 hours in a good RPG or some sort of borderlands type shyt.

I really don't like MP only games. :camby:
Pretty much sums me up.. I don't think multiplayer is enough to justify $60 but at the same time my friends that like MP don't want to pay $60 for a game that doesn't have a good MP..

In a way thats why I loved Metal Gear Solid 4 lmao

but on the article I feel like I wrote this article and he's right as you get older your imagination is hurt by time constraints and reality of life ...you had all the time in the world in high school to day dream about the adventures you were consumed by in Zelda and the multiplayer games were more personal being that you were their with friends in person seeing real reactions

I agree with all of these. Another one is "all your favorite franchises are dead or not the same anymore" which couldn't be truer for me unfortunately.

Wait a second. Is it possible that those old games didn't do anything magical with their programming to create "immersion," and that, like my kids with GTA, I "immersed" myself in those games because I was playing them at a time before I was dead inside?

I can play a zombie game now, and I just see a bunch of boring, repetitive enemies. My kids can't even be in the same room with me -- they find those games terrifying because they're imagining themselves in the game, fighting the zombies.

"If I hear you scream 'motherfukker' one more time, you're grounded."

The older you get, the less elastic your imagination becomes, and the less able you are to fill in whatever gaps the game leaves in the narrative. It's why a toddler can open a birthday present and then immediately disregard the toy in favor of spending the next three hours playing with the box. If you see an adult doing that, suddenly it's time for an intervention.
