one potential sign is if someone becomes accusatory and suspicious of your activities out of the blue, when you're not doing anything wrong. Accusing you of cheating, stepping out, etc...sometimes they're the ones cheating, but they're either being manipulative and keeping you on the defensive, or they're carrying a guilty conscious and projecting.
