You're really only safe if you have a friend buy you a laptop with cash, steal an open wifi connection, get behind a VPN or proxy or two AND then use TOR. Nothing can be traced back to you. Oh yeah, also mask your MAC address and use a new one each time you connect.
Yeah, I've thought about this a lot, but not for criminal activity, just outta curiosity. I also like to study cyber security
yeah me too. i mean he's obviously pretty smart to create silk road, so yeah switch laptops often, like a dealer w/burner phones. he was doin the public wifi so he knew that. Yeah TOR, obviously use VPN, prolly different ones continuously. Changing MAC addresses too. He probably knew all this, yet it seemed like he stopped doing the basics. Hell he could switch all electronic devices all day through CL no problem.
Oh and like all hustlers, don't be greedy. He had more than enough cake, then bounce to anywhere in the world.
