Nah, the NBA has zones, just that you have to be within arm length of an opposing player when you're in the paint.

The old Illegal defense meant you couldn't double anyone without the ball, which happens all the time now. It's a zone, if NBA teams were allowed to run hard zones (college style) with a dude like Gobert just standing in the key nobody would score.
They had to get rid of illegal defense. The reason hakeem rockets couldnt beat george karl sonics was because Seattle was getting over on the illegal defense and basically playing zone defense on hakeem all game

So what happens lets say if the warriors get KDTrey5. Then what. Since we wanna make rule changes for 3 people in the NBA that refuse to practice FT's enough to make them consistently. Lets make some rule changes for 3 more players

Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
KDTrey5

Since the the 3pt line is 23 feet, 9 inches. For these 3 players to receive credit for 3pts they must be 26 feet away. They have become to good. It is making the game unfair.

fukking stupid ass rule change because 3 people can't make the easiest free points regardless of sport. It's literally UNCONTESTED :mindblown:

Andre Drummond
Dwight Howard
Deandre Jordan

What kind of precedent does this set.....it takes 3 players to change a NBA RULE :mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

That's the shyt that gets me mad too. The shot is uncontested.

There's a way around it. When they throw it in the post and Drummond etc goes for a post move....foul em :yeshrug:
That's not even a way around it. That's just the way it should be. I don't know why so many are being so purposefully obtuse with this rule. Bad ft shooters aren't being rewarded, they're still gonna miss plenty of ft's when they're fouled in the act of shooting, as it should be. This fouling off the ball shyt was just an exploitation of something that I don't think was ever intended in the spirit of the rule. Intentionally fouling of the ball is pretty much a strategy that is only applicable in the nba, as pretty much every other level if basketball doesn't allow you to foul off the ball intentionally without a harsher penalty to the fouling team. It's ironic that the league that has the biggest investment in being entertaining is the only one that allows the game to be bogged down so much with such a rule.
