sometimes I watch and say Vince is just going to steamroll his way through to the end with all the bullshyt and leave it all to Shane when he puts the Grim Reaper over. Would be the ultimate move

I don't know if WWE is more successful than UFC, and I wouldn't point to their talent getting paid more as evidence, but you're right about the legitimacy questions.

There's no telling whether Shane could've made the UFC into what the Fertittas/White did either.

It would've been in Vince's best interest to buy them out if it stops UFC's boom period from happening. It wouldn't have been good for UFC or MMA but that's not Vince's problem...buying it would've been smart.

Shane, unlike most of the WWE was on top of the trends in society, this story is a perfect example, he knew MMA had the potential to be big time attraction. In retrospect, I'm not sure Shane running it under the WWE umbrella would've made that happen.
