Minch I a a lyrical monster but I've never heard anyone say Simon Says is some complex lyrical tour de force that miraculously hit the airwaves. Not every song has to be Bring It On or Stray Bullet.

This right here
You're telling me no one makes this song out to be like some example of lyrical excellence? :stopitslime:

Nobody ever has, it's not supposed to be either :stopitslime:

It was a mainstream single, from a rapper that was relatively unknown outside hardcore hip-hop circles. It was never seen as a lyrical tour de force, it was seen as a hardcore rapper putting out a street single that was accessible enough for people outside his circle to get down to. Plus the sample was flames.

fukk no, what are you smoking? :what:

It was seen as Monch's overt attempt to cross into the mainstream.

Matter of fact at the time people considered this Monch dumbing down his lyrics.
