She doesn't have that mamba mentality
apparently "twisties" (mental block) in gymnastics is a real thing and can affect the way a performer actually lands.

One of the higher ranked French girls had it and "pushed" through her "Twisties" and ended up getting a concussion and another injury.

They say the harder you pusher through "twisties" mentally, the worst results tend to happen.

It was best she dropped out. If you saw her landing on Monday before she dropped out the finals, it was arguably a terrible landing. It wouldn't have ended well smh. Rest up Simone.

Last year there were rumors that her plan was to retire after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Covid pushing the Olympics to this year put a damper in those plans and forced her to do an extra year.

I don't think her heart was ever in this in the first place, but somebody talked her into it.

She’s trained 4 years for this and is here. She’s been on this stage before, bite down and get it done! Afterwards you can place all the focus on your mental health and well-being.

At least that’s how I see it. I’m not going to train for 4 years to quit at the finals.

She might regret this decision. I hope she still goes for the individual competitions.

For people who don’t get it imagine the last time you took a flight you realized you really was up in the sky then as you realized that the plane disappeared and you were falling same thing in gymnastics

This is bullshyt FOH, an NBA championship was just won of this mentality, clown ass mfer

You might be right about her regretting not going through with it when she gets older. But she already has done what other girls dream of doing in the sport, so it is what it is.

She's won 19 gold medals. 19. Most gymnasts would be lucky to win 5 in their whole career. She's got nothing to prove. If team USA is that great, they can make up for it
