Glad she’s getting that wake up call early. I was worried about her when she first won those medals. She was a little too excited about the white celebrities, and was not supportive of Gabby when they were trying to knock her down.

She seems to be realizing how the world treats black excellence.


Look at Serena Williams and Floyd Maywether. Whites were rooting against their foreign competitors, and called them too arrogant, as if every single aspect of an athlete’s craft isn’t self-activated. To get to that level of excellence, you have to start as a child, and eat, drink, and sleep that sport.

Phelps isn’t the greatest Olympian?

No. A lot of those swimming medals are fukking arbitrary, inflated by the sheer volume of events offered to swimmers with similar applicable attributes. And even then Phelps was only the best in the middle distance freestyle and butterfly. But the amount of ways you can apply that in Olympic events (solo events, relays, medleys, medley relays) means he got to do the most.

You can't give Phelps the nod just because of numbers. Bolts records in the 100 and 200 are going to last a very, very long time and he went 9-0 in the Olympics.

Track is only beginning to do something similar with their mixed relays and some medleys.
