Gotta give the slight edge to L. L is criminally underrated. Don't know why people are acting like this shouldn't even be a debate.

not really a diss to say he's no BIG :yeshrug:

he was a great mc
That's not a diss at all, Big was a once in a life time phenomenonal talent and arguably top 3 best pure talents with natural gifts ever. Hardly anyone compares favourably to Big. Just mean in general, L was dope and great too, while he may not have been as good as Big, he was VERY good, should get his props too even if Big deserved to be ranked higher which I feel he does.

I was thinking this comparison is like putting 2pac and MC Ren up for debate:yeshrug:

Like Big L, Ren had two great album "if u count Kizz my Black Azz as one", both big L and MC ren were somewhat overlooked, spitters, and were in super groups. We all know what Biggie/Pac were all about

:pachaha:Big L is criminally underrated? he is, in fact, the most overrated rapper ever.

Can you please state what makes him overrated? And I don't want to hear "he's just a punchline rapper," which has been disproved countless times.
he didn't have a resume or cataglogue of a rapper who often gets called legend and all-time great.

- His debut was decent 3.5/5 album but had no impact and was forgotten shortly after it came out (until he died)
- He had one-dimensional flow and delivery
- He had limited and shallow subject matter
- His rhyme scheme was basic

:mjlol:
Call his rhyme scheme basic when it was more advanced than biggies up until about 97. Let's not even get into l's debut verse shytting on bigs
