Bonds 73 homer season easy

I think '04 was better, and '02 for that matter.

I mean...a .600+ OBP. That's the most outrageous shyt I've ever seen in sports. .400 now makes you a MONSTER......600!!!!! fukk everything else.

EDIT: I see others beat me to it

:wow:

That's what I came in here to post. Even seeing those numbers doesn't do that season justice. You couldn't even do that in The Show.

'99-00 Pedro was silly too.

'99: 23-4, 2.07 ERA, 313 K's in 213.1 IP with just 37 BBs and 9 HRs. 9 HRs in the middle of the Steroid Era, in the American League :heh:

'00: 18-6, 1.74 ERA, 284 K's in 217 IP with 32 BBs.

Just unreal stuff.
Sportscenter summer 04 was awesome, they would show the intentional walks as highlights like "whelp, he was walked 4 times today" LOL

One of the more amazing things about Bonds during that period is all of the groundouts to right field he had during that time and he still had high averages. He could have bunted down the third base line and batted 1.000 those years but he stubbornly lined rockets right into the shift anyway.

Surprised no one said Jordan in 96

Led the league in scoring with 30+ppg
MVP
All Star MVP
Finals MVP
72 win season

Edit: I guess we're talking strictly stats, then I could see making a case for Bonds or Brady, even though they ultimately lost

It isn't just stats so that season Jordan had in 96 was impressive as any. What's crazy is you could pick almost any season of Jordan's in the 90's and find something in there that'll make you go

A lot of the hockey ones are gonna be missed in this discussion.

One that I didn't see mentioned was Chris Johnson 2000 yard season

Lionel Messi this year;

73 goals
28 assists

in 60 games. That's hockey numbers! He won the most goal award in both the Spanish league and Champions league. And he broke the record for most goals in both competitions as well as breaking the all-time single season scoring record which was at 67 or something. Dude scored 73!!!!!!! goals. And that's not counting what he did for his national team during the same period, I think he scored 5 goals for them during this season.
