Off topic, but Chubb Rock doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves as a man or an artist in hip hop.

He always kept it 100 in his raps and tried his best to inspire youngins to live on code.

I miss nikkas like him in hip hop.

One of my favorite joints of all time..

:mjcry:

we had sh!t too good in the 90s, brehs..:mjcry:

These two records got all day radio play in the Bay too.
Chubb Rock was nationwide and had hits.
And he could spit.

I never checked out one of his albums. I’ll bet they’re out of print :mjcry:

:patrice::jbhmm:

i thought u was just talking bout nyc posse cuts from the single year of 1996

now i see u mean all time

:mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

are u crazy....

Nah, not at all.

That DPGC shyt was so crazy, breh.

I literally used to listen to that shyt on repeat for hours.

I'm partial to West Coast gangsta rap though, so I'm probably a little biased.

I spent my late teens/very early 20s between SD, LA, and Palmdale (Soldiers!), around real life West Coast gangsta nikkas, so that shyt is forever embedded in my DNA.

There are definitely more lyrical posse cuts, but that feeling they captured in the studio has rarely been duplicated.

Sounded like a bunch of wild Crip nikkas trying to outdo each other on one of the coldest West Coast beat ever made.

I love that shyt. :wow:

Californ-i-a by way of BK
Some other great posse cuts that never get mentioned often

Herb Mcgruff I think got Canibus on this, which is a feat in 1996

I’ll stick with 96

Hav’s verse on this shyt :havdahell:

Yo son, I'm feeling it
Opposition want me dead, concealing shyt
From gats got me living, kid, rushing through my pyramid
You secondary, go against the grain then you adversary
Had to bury nikkas on my side that snitch
Ran his mouth like a bytch, now he's laying in the ditch
That he dug for himself, on his grave I had to piss

Hav never gets his just do:wow:
