Old oil money may be disrupted by electric vehicles and technology, and they’ll be replaced by tech corporations, the new capitalist overlords

Old white men with literal oil in their backyard in Texas are terrified of this and using it as a rallying cry for their base, rather than face the existentialism of themselves and their corporations.

Once this inevitably happens, I can see oil companies rebranding under clean energy and divest from oil, or get bought out by a future clean energy company.

EVERYTHING is politicized now. shyts not fun anymore.

Top Gun came out and that movie was politicized. Left wingers hated it because it portrayed a 'strong, masculine' man as the lead saving the day. The right loved it because there was no feminist/LGBT agenda. It's just a fukking movie.

It's always been like this, you're either young or you weren't seeing the forest for the trees.

This is probably closer to the truth.

EVs cause as much environmental damage as gas fueled cars, if not more. We also don't have the infrastructure to handle the increase in demand of EVs.
