I mean from ps2 with DVD PS3 with Blue Ray and now Xbox One S with 4k.

Why all of a sudden the shyt don't matter since when?

Alot of people bought a ps3 just for the simple fact that it had a top notch blu ray player attached to it too but I guess I understand the streaming aspect as well. Obviously people like the option because I'm assuming pthose who already bought a one didn't just get an s for minor graphical enhancements.

I'll bet that the majority of people who bought a S don't even have a 4K TV.

It's literally just a talking point.

well something needs to push the tech. otherwise there is no reason to upgrade

the problem is a lot of this stuff isn't seen as a significant upgrade to the average consumer. DVD's were a significant upgrade from VHS (same with CD's and cassettes). flat screen TV's were a significant upgrade from tube-TV's. but blu-rays, 4K blu-rays, and 4K TV's just look 'slightly better' (again, the perception of the average consumer), and that's not enough to get some people to spend a bunch of money on these things
