“She had proud vulnerability… and there is a certain music industry hatred for singers who don’t ‘fit in’ (this I know only too well), and they are never praised until death – when, finally, they can’t answer back.”

Taking aim at fellow musicians and celebrities directly, he continued: “You praise her now ONLY because it is too late.

“You hadn’t the guts to support her when she was alive and she was looking for you.”

The Smiths frontman also compared O’Connor to some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry who died well before their time, writing: “Why is ANYBODY surprised that Sinead O’Connor is dead?

“Who cared enough to save Judy Garland, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Marilyn Monroe, Billie Holiday?

Its crazy how the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal came out years after her Saturday Night live incident, and at no time did the media look back and say hey, we were wrong about Sinead O'Conner.

Sad shyt. Basically want her erased from history.

People will mock you for breathing, but will give you air when you are no longer breathing :francis:

Shoutout to my old bunkmate at the homeless shelter last year for summing up people in a nutshell. That's why I give side eyes to folks on some :mjcry:shyt, but where were they when the laughter and crazy jokes were a booming?

People strive for a success story, but hate hearing it at night before going to bed. And the moment that success story has a painful chapter, that's when they can sleep like a baby.

I hope there's something in Sinead's will that allows the pallbearers to have an open casket with her back expose for the entire world to kiss her ass.

I predict this will happen to Kanye when he passes.

She was a very talented singer. But she had been through so much.

She grew up in an abusive household.

She was calling out the Catholic Church way before it was fashionable hell it ruined her career.

Dapped this until I actually read the article lol

Morrissey’s claims of not fitting refer largely to the public response to his alleged support of a white nationalist political party, among his other controversial stances that have aimed at immigrants, women, and Asian communities. This differs greatly from the backlash O’Connor received for stepping outside the traditional mainstream star lane to make bold public stances on child abuse, war, and organized religion.
