When these armchair militants complain about whitefolks adopting Black babies they never counter with action by actually being the alternative and adopting Black babies themselves, nope, they just complain about it on social media and then move on. This guy is the actual personification of the alternative. The exact opposite of an armchair militant.

You're being a drama queen.

Its not negative pointing out that the "talking it but not walking it" mentality on social media is not an alternative when it comes to those who have an issue with whites adopting Black babies is not negative.

Once my kids get old enough I might do something similar. Black people need to get off the "these kids so bad" path that comedians on comic view put us on and heavily consider adopting after their kids are older. There are a ton of government assistance programs for parents who adopt and you can add that money along with your retirement money and live comfortable in your later years.

I lived in a diverse community and watched white couples who were older adopting and fostering black children like crazy and literally saving their homes from foreclosure off that money. It's an entire hustle from white folks.

Thread is underselling how great this man is

Back in 2001, this divorced dad of two took on a foster kid named Michael Perez.

"He was a good young man and I just hated to see him in the system," Lamont said.

He eventually adopted Michael, who now works as a nurse.

"I don't believe that I would be the person that I am today without the morals that he instilled in me, the extended family that I have now," Michael said.

Turns out, Michael was just the beginning. Over the next 15 years, Lamont fostered more than 30 kids in Buffalo, New York, and adopted five of them. He did this all on his own and with all of his heart.

"Every child that I have had, it was my goal to make a difference in their lives," Lamont said, who eventually retired from fostering.

"It really was a shocker. I didn't expect for him to restart and to do it all over again. It's just amazing," Michael said.

Today Lamont is back in the game, in a big way. Not long ago, he took on five siblings, all under the age of 6. Lamont, who works as a caterer, said he did have other plans for these years. But those plans have now been shattered with mayhem.

Lamont decided to foster all five — Zendaya, Jamel, Nakia, Major and Macaela — after he found out they were going to be split-up. To guarantee they stay a family, last month he adopted them.

"I had to help them. They deserved to be raised together," Lamont said.

Fortunately, he has a great support system through church and friends. He's not opposed to adding a wife to the mix, should such a saint exist. But if not, he's also fine going it alone, for as long as it takes to make a difference.

According to Good Morning America, the five siblings are children of a man Thomas once fostered. They were scattered across the country, separated for over a year and a half, he told GMA.

“The kids ended up being taken into care. I believe it was due to neglect,” Lamont said. “They had them in four different homes, four different cities.”

Thomas fostered the children for two years before he was able to legally call them his own last week.

“They bring new energy to me. They’re lovable kids, very affectionate,” he said. “They deserve to be raised as siblings, and that was my fight.”

this man is a great man
