But whether the women are quality or not, the bottom line in the article is that when it comes the apps it’s no longer just about hooking up, it’s about forming an emotional connection. Whether they get that or not because they can’t find a woman doesn’t negate that they desire a deeper connection and are less interested in a hook up.
I think as I’ve said in many threads both men and women aren’t satisfied with the current dating market as it is now. That’s why many are opting out or remaining single until they meet their match. Neither group is having as much sex as previously.

because people are no longer hooking up doesn't mean shyt. pre pandemic men were already doing a lot of moving away from dealing with toxic shyt in the modern dating scene. some of them to an extreme level. that article doesn't insinuate what you think it does like men are now just ready to cuff up and settle down. they are rather more selective and seeking quality engagement but also aware of the scene out there thus the number of singles. article didn't say these men were cuffed up because they want long term quality engagements but rather single because of it. because suitors a few and far between.
the field out here is nasty and I hate to say it but women are still not seeing what's happening as far as the changing and shifting mentalities of younger men. they would rather be single and sexless than entertain the bullshyt.

Your comment of 'waiting for their match' is sparking my response. Only men who think a such thing as a match exists tend to be incels, the non incel dudes who believe in that concept marry early (the same way women who are actually marriage material get married early).

As for your other point, we are in agreement, that’s what I meant when I said more are opting out or remaining single until they meet their match. No one is satisfied with the dating market. Women nor men. There are articles saying essentially the same about women wanting to stay single, not valuing marriage like before. It’s every other week now that we see something about one or the other being dissatisfied lol.
I’m in a relationship but if I weren’t, I’d likely stay single unless I met a man that possessed what I was seeking, so I do understand men not wanting women that aren’t up to par. As for women not getting it or seeing what’s taking place—okay.
