Son i'm gonna tell you a true story.

I am not a fan of the idea of dating sites anyway, as I would prefer things to jump off
more organically. However, I have folks (who I consider decent, regular folk) telling me how they were eating
pretty well.

So one day I got an email ad and my curiousity got the better of me.
I filled out all the profile info, one of the items being that I was a black male, and submit
it. I hadn't put up a pic, so I looked through my pics to see if I had a presentable pic to use.
In the 2-3 minutes I found, I saw that I already had 4 messages - all from white women -
who hadn't even seen my face. I decided that I was not about that particular life.
Yeah, this is more about the structure of the app. Pictures will be required and at the very least a small amount of info about yourself as well.

People just want to connect, the idea is to make it as easy and feel as natural as possible. I don't think it's natural for a woman to sign up on a site like POF and immediately get dozens of messages in a matter of minutes. It can be intimidating to the woman and the initiators can easily get their messages lost in the shuffle while trying to send the message over.

Don't know what to say. If you aren't photogenic/outright attractive/have great pictures you are fighting a losing battle on social media/dating apps.
Not really about the looks as those are individual assessments, it's more about how to have a comfortable environment that everyone can enjoy. Everyone should have the ability to make a good first impression without noise.

Rejection is hard on any level, but the idea is to keep it clean. Give people the opportunity to give a memorable first impression rather than the typical "Hey" message you get on most of these sites today.
