And actually looking at the time frame of when "Come Back In One Piece" (June 2000) dropped, Aaliyah being a top artist in R&B is a fair assessment: "Try Again" was a number one around that time and set records and pretty much the catalyst for the soundtrack to sell 1.5 million copies.
