J Cole isn't as big a fraud as say... Rick Ross.

I just think Cole's "deep" image is a tad fraudulent. He raps about the come-up and getting dome from your girl. He's not this "reflective messiah" people say he is.

Also, remember that he is part cac. I know a dude from Fayetteville who knows J Cole's highschool. Super caccy. Then again, just because you go to a caccy school and you're part cac doesn't mean you're mostly cac trying to profit off Black culture. Like Drake, they're both really about hip hop culture

A bit of both. Definitely more on the perception side.

I think all that "hey, come over to my house and hear my album" and "I just bought houses for broke black moms" stuff is mostly promo, but it's impossible for me to know.

He doesn't really come off as fake, just too hyped by his own fanbase and casual listeners

true. At the end of the day, Cole sells himself as regular (even though his actual life story of being raised in Germany proves otherwise) and that's not much of a stretch.

Definitely, but if he's gonna do nice stuff for his fans and the community for PR instead of weak twitter beef and whoring out to the usual suspects, I kind of give him a small benefit of the doubt. I don't dig most of his stuff but I'd take him instead of Drake as the lesser evil every time.

Disagree but that's because I think Drake is actually the worst thing about his music. I can't listen to his voice for more than ten seconds before I have to resist the urge to kick the speakers in. (Not that J. Cole is much better) Beats are usually good tho.

I can't. I can't stand 95% of Drake's music. But he has tracks where he actually sounds better than normal. e.g. Best I Ever Had, 0-100, Started From the Bottom, 10 Bands...

For the record, I never liked Cole's voice. As bad as Drizzy's voice is, it's noticeable better than Cole's Then when you talk about production, 6 Fraud is just on a whole other level compared to Cole.
