Wow crazy. At least in NYC where I'm from you can have particular neighborhoods of Black owned businesses like restaurants, hardware stores, barbershops, vegetable market, etc

And for the bolded, yeah that's one of the reasons I didn't wanna move to Cali, way too much government involvement. It's already crazy in NYC, so I don't want a mirror image. I remember for fun looking at jobs in So Cal, 1/3 of the jobs were to sign up to be a Sheriff

Not just state government. Local goverments in say a small city in l.a county, can actively work to stop black businesses from entering.

There was a soulfood restaurant in Moorpark that locals leadership actively tried to prevent from setting up shop.

Now, I believe they made them concede to keeping their hours to to specific times, as in not being open every day and or closing early.

Everything in the store looked legit and she had name brand items so nobody would have any excuses. She also has an 'A' health rating

It is a franchise. Grocery Outlet. I've been in that store before, it's great for necessities and snacks but certain things you will need to go elsewhere to find.


Swore it was owned by Mexicans though, but maybe she bought them out or that article I read when they first opened was wrong.
