It's sad to realize this was the end of all the REAL Hip Hop dynasties :mjcry:
There's one part where they were discussing where hip hop would be in 10 years and they were ALL wrong :martin:
I think this documentary had a big hand in breaking up Rocafella. Everyone got to witness first hand how much of an a$$hole Dame was.
X was great in it...kept it too real. I even caught a :ahh:diss. When X said who were the best emcee's he said if not himself then Jay and Scarface :merchant:
Looking back on it how did WE fukk it all up :mindblown:
Only person still doing it on a large level is Jay and NO independents are making any moves :scusthov:

i've watched the shyt like ten times, thats what they all say 'dames an a$$hole' meaning outspoken no malice intended.

kevin liles and def jam should have been slapped, it was a roc-a-fella tour yet they gave them all def jam tour leather jackets, dame been right they are shady as hell.

he was just exposing them, while getting shaped up in front of his seed. like a true boss.

i fck with detroit tho :ehh:

dope ass docu tho, .... all of them where like shinning stars. Jay never wanted to mingle, interesting didnt even do no one on one like interviews. his public image been getting tailored, i gotta give him props for that.

if you ever get a chance to watch mtv making the videos, the one with jay and mariah carey 'heartbreaker' dudes professionalism is unmatched, he gets enough props from me.

Rod u cant knock Dame for standing up for his brand

cause Jay damn sure wasnt ..:sas1:

his objective was to link up with the sams dudes Dame was fighting against Lyor and Liles

whom were treating ROCAFELLA like a little subsidiary

when in fact as dame made clear YOU (DEF JAM) only have a QUARTER (25%) share of this joint venture while Polygram own the other Quarter..while Rocafella was the MAJORITY investor with a 50% share

Dams was right...

Yeah you right. Dame problem was that he came off as the arrogant, loud, abrasive black man who truly did OWN his business. The Jew and white folks wasn't having that shyt! :francis:
What I never understood was why did EVERYBODY distance themselves from Irv though :dahell: that's what pretty much broke down all the cohesiveness within the power players. We all now see what Jay's intentions were though :martin:

Nah Dame was definitely an ass then. Even worse actually.

But he was still a smart business man.

QC is a pretty dope management company and label.

Awful Records makes alot of dough indy.

Hip Hop is just more fragmented now. Because of the internet. It's harder to quantify success. Dom Kennedy is a multimillionare, so is Nipsey Hustle and Currency. Its actually a better era as far as everyone being able to eat if they have the right infrastructure.

I respect your post but :martin: at the bolded. Multi-millionaire is a stretch by miles. They might have some dough but come on son.
