I undestand dudes plight and it's not fair and no one should have to deal with it, but it is what it is. I don't think he's a traitor nor do I think he doesn't have a right to complain. He doesn't have to live in the hood or help anyone out of the hood IMHO, that's not his job talking like that is like saying rap victims should be responsible for telling teaching other rape victims how not to get raped. In case you missed the subtle point there rape victims aren't responsible for them being raped.
Would it be nice if he did some "giving back"? Sure it would be. Does he have to? No.
Ignorance takes time to kill. Less than 100 years ago black people were not even allowed to drink from the same damn water fountain...consider how far we come but put into perspective how much more we need to do in order to fix this problem.
