He always throwing shots at scottie :smugfavre:I remember when he said he wasn't a top 50 player of all time.:russ: Classic Jordan fan underrating his teammates

I always found it funny he said mike "taught Scottie how to win" and you see Jordan never won a playoff series without Scottie

It's his opinion bruh.Pippen made the top 50 over Dominique Wilkins which is a joke

Pippen missed 35 games of the 97-98 season and the bulls went 24-11 don't act like jordan couldn't win without pippen by using those 1st 3 years of mikes career when he was a young player with trash rosters going up against the 86 and 87 celtics as a measuring stick

Pip is real borderline top 50 bruh. There's some crazy revisionist history that goes on in The Coli when it comes to Pippen's "greatness".

What kills me about the "MJ wasn't great without Scottie" and "Scottie wasn't even a top 50 player" debates...they are all about either undermining MJ or putting MJ on a pedastal with complete disregard for the rest of the team

MJ's Bulls were very well constructed teams, with role players who had clearly defined roles and they played them well. It is like the Spurs of today only they have MJ on them instead of Tony Parker.

Using Pippen alone in the MJ vs. Lebron and MJ vs. Kobe arguments isn't painting the whole picture. In my opinion, Pippen wasn't all that noteworthy compared to Shaq or Wade. But the supporting cast was way more consistent and balanced than the current Heat (Lakers, debatable)

Scottie is just one of those guys who either gets overrated or underrated, there seems to be no middle ground when it comes to him.

pippen is a top 50 player

its guys like paul arizan and dave bing on the top 50 list. i would def take scottie over them

but people always run to mj had pip, like that is the same as bird having mchale, magic having kareem or even bron having wade. pip just wasnt that type of player. he was not dynamic enough of a scorer to impact the game most nights and most nights it was still left to jordan to have to go ham many nights to get wins. just look at how many times jordan was still the leading scorer of games over pippen vs the amount of times wade, kareem, mchale were the leading scorers over their counterparts.

people forget the years scottie was considered soft and the word on how to beat the bulls was to just beat up on scottie cause he will fall apart. its not the same as when bron, or magic or bird having a off game their sidekick could go off for 30 and take over the game. scottie was a dynamic defender. and he redefined the small forward position and basically created what a point forward is. but again in the years after mj came back, all scottie totals in points etc went down in the playoffs, thats 96,97, and 98. mike was carrying that team to 3 more ships.

of course pip was needed. and he was still a all star. but at the end of the day so much was still on mike to step up and push those teams to victories. mj was the clutch player, he was the closer, he was the player who would get them off to good starts. you have to be a bulls fan who watched them games and not someone just running to the stat sheets to know this. normally if mike was having a bad shooting night, that meant a loss. not all the time, but most of the time.
