pippen is a top 50 player
its guys like paul arizan and dave bing on the top 50 list. i would def take scottie over them
but people always run to mj had pip, like that is the same as bird having mchale, magic having kareem or even bron having wade. pip just wasnt that type of player. he was not dynamic enough of a scorer to impact the game most nights and most nights it was still left to jordan to have to go ham many nights to get wins. just look at how many times jordan was still the leading scorer of games over pippen vs the amount of times wade, kareem, mchale were the leading scorers over their counterparts.
people forget the years scottie was considered soft and the word on how to beat the bulls was to just beat up on scottie cause he will fall apart. its not the same as when bron, or magic or bird having a off game their sidekick could go off for 30 and take over the game. scottie was a dynamic defender. and he redefined the small forward position and basically created what a point forward is. but again in the years after mj came back, all scottie totals in points etc went down in the playoffs, thats 96,97, and 98. mike was carrying that team to 3 more ships.
of course pip was needed. and he was still a all star. but at the end of the day so much was still on mike to step up and push those teams to victories. mj was the clutch player, he was the closer, he was the player who would get them off to good starts. you have to be a bulls fan who watched them games and not someone just running to the stat sheets to know this. normally if mike was having a bad shooting night, that meant a loss. not all the time, but most of the time.
