slack is good but expensive AF for essentially an IM software. the difference between the two isn't enough to pay the money for slack, not even close imo. slack will probably get bought out.
i aint never heard of zoom either ive been stupid busy...![]()
I've been using zoom every day for the past 3 months.I still use Skype everyday. I prefer Skype over zoom when I'm talking with colleagues, because My contact list is already integrated. It's easy to message as well as make a call. Zoom requires making a meeting, then sending out the invite, blah blah blah. Just to much extra work.Do you work in 2003? How do you not know zoom or slack?
And these collaborative tools that went public as standalone companies made no sense (well if the MSFT/FAANG entities are allowed to monopolize markets). A lot of these collaborative tools should be part of a bigger suite - Dropbox + slack, asana + zoom, etc
Haven’t used Skype in years, but it absolutely shyts on google in the workplace (You can’t see conference participants in hangouts when sharing your screen unless you have dual monitors).
Bluejeans was making waves at the same time as zoom 4-5 yrs ago, but it’s crazy how far behind they fell.

But zoom is more stable than skype.
Poor skype, they had like a 10yr head start in this market and got passed all the way up. They lookin like kodak and blockbuster out here...
