I can pretty much get away with outdated slang because most Brits(Except those in London) don't even have a clue of American slang.

if i used my childhood slang i'd be out here saying def, cold chillin in the place to be, stupid fresh and funky fresh because i'm flabby and sick. but i probably use some less offensive outdated shyt like swag, swaggy and cooked crack. and i know for a fact young hip hop fans aren't calling rappers emcees or referring to their lyrics as bars so i'm outdated in that regard too. and keep it an absolute band with yall not only do i listen to music on the go on an ipod instead of streaming it on my phone like every normal person, i still call it a "walkman" lmao
