Dude, stop it. The premise of this thread is that Slaughterhouse is corny. How can you argue with that? As a group they have put out some unbelievably mediocre, or let's say unremarkable music, and Budden's corniness just permeates throughout that group. A group that was deified, when they unified, should have came with much better music and the corny image they have is much deserved.

The "GOD" status bestowed upon them was unwarranted because NONE of them has put out worthy music. And as a group, they have put out music even less spectacular than their solo shyt. Do you even remember what some people were calling this group when they formed? These guys were called everything from "hip hop saviours" to "the next Wu-Tang Clan". Unwarranted praise. And I mainly blame it on Joe budden's legion of internet nerd stans because they were the main jockeys for the makeshift hype wagon. Calling 4 rappers in their 30's who never really made any impact, in any form, in hip hop, saviours was just a recipe for disaster breh.

whether they are corny or not is a matter of opinion. their first album gets no love on this site, I loved it. Not a classic but solid IMO.

then came the 2nd album.

the problem with SH is, I dont think people really think they are corny so much as they dont have respect for them. I lost a lot of respect for them.

SH is the Bernard Hopkins of rap. They always blamed the industry for their shortcomings and failures and claimed to speak out against it. They were supposedly crusaders against everything wrong in a dying art/sport and as soon as the opportunity presented itself, they became willing participants in the very things they denounced as what was ruining it.

There is nothing wrong with making money, but dont speak out about the pimps when you are more than happy to sell your azz for them. SH just gives off the aura of being phonies.
