The idea of slaughterhouse was good but they just didn't capitalize on it. I wouldn't say they are corny but they seem misguided and didn't keep it real and that's why everyone hates their last album. They talked all this hip hop savior nonsense and then they tried to make a pop rap album. They were never going to be a successful mainstream group. The best bet for them on the last album would of been to try and make a underground classic on a major label- get just blaze, Kanye, alchemist and all the producers their core fans want to hear them work with but they did the complete opposite.

I have been a fan of all of them individually but recently I have no interest in even hearing there solo material. Royce has been garbage since the 1st bar exam, looking at the track list for joe's new album I expect it to be terrible and I don't know what Joell and Crooked are doing. Slaughterhouse didnt work out and at this point they should probably not put out anymore music as a group

Royce Da 5'9-I'm Me (1000 Degrees Freestyle)(Bar Exam 2) - YouTube

Bar exam 2 had a few joints I liked but overall I remember being really disappointed with it. Royce will always have a couple of bangers on his projects but most of his stuff is forgettable. Out of all his solo albums the only great one is Death Is Certain, the rest have a couple of great joints and a lot of garbage. Boom is one of my favorite songs ever so I guess I'm looking for more of that from him. I think he's always felt he should be on eminem's level of success and he's always chasing that instead of catering to his core audience

:what:

I think you went too far.

I agree with your analogy up until the last two sentences. I think Slaughterhouse wound up looking like the Heat the first year they had Lebron. Everyone expected them to win it all because of the team they had but they just didn't make the grade.

Being objective, I think the WORST you can say is they looked like the Lakers this year. But to try to say they're like the Wizards is :childplease:

Whether you think they're corny or not, you can't say they have not put out a bunch of dope songs (e.g. "Slaughterhouse", "Onslaught", "Truth or Truth".)

How are Joe Buddens, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9 and Crooked I as a collective in any way comparable to any organization that has two future HOF anything? They're the Isiah Thomas Knicks of rap. Individually, they can... start on most teams and maybe have some decent games and if their fans are loud enough(which they fukkin are) one of them might get on the All-Star team as a bench player.

I don't know which one's Nate Robinson though.

Slaughterhouse - On The House (On The House) - YouTube

To me a song like this extremely entertaining. It doesn't need a dope beat or a hook to be a good song. I like all forms of hip-hop, I like 2 Chainz, Dom Kennedy type stuff, I like Lupe, Roots type stuff.. but my favorite kind of hip-hop is battle rap songs.. so that's why I'll always enjoy Slaughterhouse.

awesome track, quality post.

smh @ whoever said Royce been garbage since the bar exam. Royce even now isnt garbage, too me garbage should be a label reserved for dudes like Keef. Ill say that Royce has fallen off since he began trying to make this new age eminem type music. I do not like that shyt man. Bar Exam 2, Street Hop and his contributions to the first Slaughterhouse album where all piff tho. To me his fade started with Success Is Certain and reached rock bottom (hopefully) with Our House.

Like obviously em moved units with Recovery but to me even that shyt sounded forced esp. Not Afraid and I lol @ anyone truly finding that song meaningful and empowering.

Also keep in mind that they gave Eminem all the tracks from there sessions and left the tracklist up to him and thats what he chose. Em is in full sell out mode like I understand him tryna get his boys rich but damn, thats the tracklist you chose. The fact that em can listen to throw that and think yeah, this shyt is dope is insane.

Eminem isn't a good executive producer, nor does he have a good ear for talent. Aside from 50, which was a no brainer, he hasn't signed any1 w any star power. I thought he may have had somethin w Yelawolf, but his album sucked n he royally fukked that up.

He signed a bunch of good artists, Bobby Creek and Stat Quo were dope.. but probably not crossover stars.. the main problem was never doing anything with them.
