I hate the fact that this is labeled as "stoicism" when really it's just becoming adapted to the realities of existence. To merely view the world in a perspective that opposes the "hyper-social" outlook where we must dedicate our entire lives chasing after fleeting pleasures means that people will assume that you're "sad" but I think it's the mind's rational response to try to remain strong in the callous world we reside in and to no longer chase after things that aren't important. As people realize the state of our existence they seem to naturally become a bit more reclusive or even "cold" but it's likely a coping mechanism for the mind.

I first experienced sleep paralysis when i was about 17/ 18. I remember It felt like i woke up but i couldnt move. I didnt see anything but I could feel a dark energy in my room. Obviously i was scared as shyt, i was trying to move or shout for help but nothing would come out. After fighting trying to move I said jesus and i snapped out of it.

I then experienced it on and of for a few months then it disappeared untill my Mum died. After this its like any time I layed down it would happen, am talking to the point where it would happen up to 10 times in a sleep session cos id wake myself up before it took place. I knew it was going to happen because i could hear a loud pitched noise and felt likw i was falling just before.

This went on for like a year with the same intensity till i realised that it mostly happend when i slept on my back. For about 5 years it would still happen occasionaly but its been about 8 years now and it doesnt happen anymore.

I kind of wish I could do it again just to see what would happen if I let it take place and didnt panic.

What factors do you think caused this? Do you eat before you go to sleep? Do you sleep on your back rather than on your sides?

Ive also noticed that it's a lot of men stating that they deal with sleep paralysis and seeing shadowy malevolent entities. I have to wonder if it has anything to do with you guys' addiction to adult films. That stuff is extremely harmful and pollutes your inner self. It's negative and probably attracts negative energy towards you.

You know what I just thought of when I saw this? How people who claim to have astrally projected always say how free they feel - weightless with nothing to worry about.

And then when they plop back into their physical body their reminded of the harsh reality that we live in and the many pains and restrictions that exist in the physical body.
I projected once. Got deep into a meditation. Didn't know I was while it was happening. shyt felt sooo good. I was on an island some where.

I go through this just about every night.

Yeah avoid sleeping on your back and it won't happen
This used to work for me for about a year but it doesn't work anymore, I can get sleep paralysis whether I sleep on my back or on my stomach. I haven't really noticed it when sleeping on my side though. I usually just sleep on my back now cause its more comfortable and the hallucinations are worse when your lying on your stomach.

I've had these a lot in elementary school, middle school, high school and a few times in college.

- First time I was sleeping and I think my moms called us to get up and eat. I remember waking up, smelling the eggs n bacon n shyt. But I couldn't open my eyes, move, or call my mom. After a few seconds I eventually got up...I was fukkin terrified,.

- Secnd time was in middle school. I simply woke up(I was laying on my back.) and couldn't move for sum reason. It felt like something was sitting on top of me and I was scared as fuk to turn around and see. But i couldn't turn around or open my eyes....eventually I turned around and ofc nothing was there.

The rest of the times were like that too.

I be having vivid ass nightmares sometimes tho....like one time I fell asleep under my cover in elementary school and for sum reason I thought somebody kidnapped me and had me in their car. I was scared to peek out my covers...and I couldn't cuz I couldn't fukkin move outta fear. Eventually I could move and I was in my bed.

Most recently was like last year in December. I got into an argument wit this girl and decided to drive to a hotel and sleep in my car.(I had to be up in 5 hours and I already showered so I said fukk it)

I had these dreams that people kept coming up to my car. Like onetime some kids was knocking on the window(my car is tinted at like 10% so u really can't see shyt) and saying shyt about me sleeping in the car. I was trying to move and get up and tell them to leave me tf alone but I couldn't; move or scream.

- Then my mom and my brother came to the car....I was like :lupe:tf they doing here they live hours away. Then i realized this must be a dream cuz this aint possible and aint no way they found me.

- The last one was someone got into my car and stabbed me in the throat or sum and I woke up.

Those last 2 weren't exactly sleep paralysis but ya.

Cant wait to go to sleep tonight and see the fukkery called my dreams

Man fighting to get out a dream is the worst. Jesus man, feels like you are in that Leo Dicaprio movie

That moment you realize its a dream and you're in the dream like :whew:
