Let the ruler live:manny:

Nah everything about his stage show is trash. He's a respected legend and he's leaving money on the table with that nonsense he's been doing. Saw him 5-6 years ago, homie was rapping to his vocal tracks with his hand in his pocket.

Rap is one the genre where rappers depreciate rapidly with age because it's such a young man's game. It's jarring to have this one image in your head of Slick Rick The Ruler looking fly as fukk on top of his game, how the world remembers him and then seeing him old and grey, still rapping. It's sad to look at.

That said, I felt like the 90s dudes aged gracefully in the 2000s and 2010s as the culture got older, cause people were ready for that. The 80s and 70s cats didnt have a blueprint

lol I seen him live in 89 and it was like he was too cool to put on a good performance

I remember when he was in between songs he told the crowd to make some noise. Some of them screamed but most just looked at him like
:usure: :francis:

So then he said fukk it "everybody that got Aids be quite" and the whole crowd started screaming lol
:russ:

U could not get away with saying that in 2017

That's a fact. Dapper Dan is still out here making moves, so I don't want to use Rick's age as a pass. Let somebody that understands the asthetic Rick is going for take the wheel.
Dapper Dan Is Officially Working With Gucci Now

Dapper Dan hasn't had the legal issues that Slick Rick had. Those destroyed his career and any potential he had to make some real money in music.

I don't get why people's fashion get stuck at some random point in time.

I would understand if he had the same shyt as his prime, but too many off brand dudes have for some reason got stuck in 2003.

From my impression he was a fly dude, :dame:, too in the 80s

Why is this sad and why is this enter at your own risk?

He always dressed over the top and ridiculous. Maybe some of you younger kids forgot he has always been over the top? You are talking about a guy who would lick off shots to scare people he deemed 'peasants' just to laugh.

If it's because he looks old, who cares? You think rock fans are like 'Damn can't respect the Rolling Stones cuz Keith Richards looks 47,000 years old on tour this year'

At least these old rappers don't get face lifts and shyt like fukking Bono.
