I kinda fukk with it this though. Slick sounds sharp as hell. Would've been nice for a couple of more story joints but Landlord is some vintage Ruler shyt. I don't mind short albums but wouldn't have hurt to add an extra verse on a few of these joints, and if not maybe a couple of extra features to pad it out. Production is pretty nice I think. Them two house joints were weird and out of place. But the rest kinda have a modernized boom bap feel that I think sounds pretty sophisticated. Q-Tip beat at the end too :blessed:

I said this when this whole thing was announced that I expected most of these albums to be in the 20 mintue range like all them Kanye joints in 2018.

Album is dope. I was actually worried it would be meh but it exceeded my expectations. Production fits exactly what a rapper who first came out in 85 should sound like 40 years later in 2025. Album sounds like an extended version of Art Of Storytelling. The songs being short fits right into this ADHD era of songs being under 2 minutes. You can tell Rick worked this album for his core fans to not be disappointed. The house songs make sense because Great Adventures & Rulers Back dropped when the house music wave was strong and rappers like Latifah, EPMD, De La and others were dipping into hip house so it brings a throwback aura that I rock with. The whole album has a 'put it on with no skips just let it rock' set up. I'm on my second spin and I will be keeping this in the rotation. I'm even thankful this album doesn't have the "Can't Dance To A Track That Ain't Got No Soul" track with that overused Funkadelic sample.

I give it 4 mics. Maybe even 4 1/2 mics due to Rick being 60 and making a dope hip hop album way past his prime in 2025.

I like it. I would give it a 3 1/2 mics on the first listen. I just wish it wasn't so short. I really like the track that q-tip helped produced. I kinda wish that q-tip would have helped with production on this album and helped him put the album together like he did with the last LL Cool J album
