No, but Slim Thug also never had to scam people, nor file multiple bankruptcies to stay afloat. You practically don’t even have to leave Texas to consistently get paid. The only downside is you simply may not be that well known when you go outside of Texas. Beatking, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Trae, Lil Keke, and several others aren’t hurting at all despite being out of the mainstream limelight for a long time.

Texas hip hop does support it's own really well...

Slim definitely deserves his flowers but his claim to be the highest earning independent rapper is unsubstantiated and frankly unbelievable when we KNOW there were rappers bigger in that indy lane with broader reach, than he ever had...

Curren$y came up in the free datpiff mixtape era. Slim was still very much in that era of selling CDs. I remember buying, A lot of those Boss Hogg Outlaws cds and that ESG collab stayed in heavy rotation.
