Sounding kind of :flabbynsick:

SV with no Baatin, Dilla, Elzhi, or Black Milk production (who produced all of T3's dope solo stuff like the Olio mixtape and was clearly the more talented member of BR Gunna)? Meh. At least the guests are nice. All of Young RJ's beats sound the same. Good enough, but nothing too special. Few good tracks on here (Summer Breeze wooo, The Line, etc) and production all the whole is good, but this is far from their early stuff.

I'm sort of with Big Mel too. T3's actually a pretty dope emcee, nothing really stands out but don't skip his verses or anything. Young RJ + his dad OTOH fukking up the group to try and make himself a member, kicking out Elzhi and alienating Black Milk from working with them is lame as fukk too. Group doesn't have nearly the same energy they had even on the 05 album and large portions of Villa Manifesto were skippable after the EP being flames and all the dope Black Milk production getting cut.

Sucks because SV was one of my favorite groups ever. Fantastic 2 is one of my top three favorite albums of all time, and I've seen them live a handful of times.

Illa J eerily resembles Dilla vocally, though. And RJ's beats are pretty damn tough IMO (he does rely heavily on classic drum loops though). I also think Black Milk is slowly returning to the fold after the split seeing as he has an interlude on Dirty Slums 2.

My thing is this, though. You KNOW you're getting some straight, upper echelon hip hop material from the brand regardless of the lineup.
