I think Cortez on this level would’ve beaten plenty of battlers that night. With that being said, I think he got 30’d. I’m unable to put on a straight face and give Cortez a sympathy round as a pat on the back for good effort. He lost clearly. There’s a certain echelon he can’t reach. This battle proves it

The problem with Cortez is the structure of his bars and the setup to the punch.

All the references will make sense, but there is no efficient lead up to the punch for it to land and hit hard

It’s like Danny Myers, he has Cortez syndrome where he says a lotta hot shyt, but the set up ain’t good.
Where someone like Twork might not say as much intricate off the wall wild shyt like Danny, but his lead up to the punch will be so efficient that it’s unstoppable.

Danny is clearly working on that over the last year where Cortez is stagnant.
Danny’s Space, Time and Continuum bar is an example of a moment where he figured it out.
