What Chess is experiencing is an anxiety issue, which specifically happens on big stages out of his comfort zone.

One common way to deal with it is to face situations that cause discomfort. I believe as he gains more experience on stages such as this, he will conquer this. A strong diet can help as well, as alcohol and caffeine can trigger anxiety.

I'd like to also suggest cognitive behavioral therapy. Chess needs to identify what causes him to react the way he does, and start to consciously shape his own reactions instead of puking and squeaking
