Writing the post while watching the battle

1st round

**chess good 1st round but he need to learn when to stop he went for too long and kind lost the momentum in his rounds
**every time he was stopped by the crowd he brought it back a couple of bars...ave just kept it going when he was stopped so his rounds were a lot smoother
**i like chess a lot but anytime a rapper got to say "you need to catch up" then most likely he know his bars ain hittin as he expected
**Ave round....full of haymakers and crowd reaction..he is growing on me i really diddnt want to rush and say he fire i was lowkey hating the past few battles of his but son fire...1-0 Ave

2nd round
**chess fighting back....crowd not reacting as much as they were to ave maybe its coz of chess indirect style and structure to his punches makes it harder to follow unlike ave
**madden glitch:whoo:
**you can tell ave 1st round shook up chess a bit he is looking for the crazy reaction from the crowd like ave had 1st round. He should just keep going and not stop looking for reactions it makes the pauses mad awkwards.
**Another good round from chess
**Ave up....45 with the double drum:ehh:
**to the point round from Ave smoother than chess, on edge about this one slight edge to ave. I just liked his round a little bit more. Chess had too many dry spots for me. 2-0 Ave

**Chess up on the 3rd
*****im from zimbabwe iv seen poverty frst hand some of these rappers od on the struggle raps...why should i give you props because you cut the bottom of a 2 litre bottle to make a bowl?
**that being said chess cooking had a couple of stumbles though...
Chess asking for more time "hold on please bro":francis:

**mannequin challenge:blessed:...nice way to end the round

**Ave up...why he taking shots at clips? Filler bars
**arsonal attached to a bus:obama:
Nah its a wrap too many punches from this dude ave...im legit mad because i wanted chess to derail the ave train but it really dont seem to be stopping soon.
**batman butler???:ohlawd:

3-0 Ave....

Tdot.. till the death of me
Not my cup of tea. Very boring battle

Nah, Ave just doesn't do it for me like that. As nice as he is, I don't react to his bars at all.

I also feel he works better in a Born Legacy type of environment.

Bar aint that crazy breh

The battle was :ld:

Ave got this 3-0 with the closest round being the 2nd. I'm sorry but Chess raps for way too damn long and he needs to drop the signature struggle bars in the 3rd. That shyt doesn't hit if he's doing it every battle.

Also, Chess raps too fukking long. 3 round battles at big events used to be 35 minutes max. This shyt was 50 minutes.

Ave's style of punching is quite refreshing. It's bar after bar but he's got the cadence and set ups that don't make it feel formulaic. He's like a writer's version of Rum Nitty if that makes any sense.

Red gon do Ave kinda bad.

Nah Ave got that hype right now. Red is better than him though.

Nah ave gotta learn to switch up his delivery at times, way too east to zone out on him

Is the turning point in a battle rappers career where the fickle fans begin to turn on the nikkas they once loved? :ohhh:

That 'build you up to tear you down' life cycle of a battle rapper never ceases to amaze me

Ave is still FIRE nikkas :stopitslime:

Behave. I've never been crazy about Chess or Ave. I give all rappers props when they have a good round/bar but his battle was underwhelming.

Ave 2-1, 2nd was debatable to me.

Ave is NICE. all three of his rounds were strong, his 1st even overpowered that long ass opener from Chess...

Chess is dope, but I think it was a big gap between the two here. He was rapping for a long ass time, but he kept having to regain himself and it was eating up his time. That 'keep up' shyt wasn't a good look either.
Are all of his 3rd rounds gonna be struggle stories now? He delivers em well, but it's something damn near everyone on that stage can relate to. That angle gets less effective the more he goes back to it.

Nunu was drunk af:pachaha:"shake my larger than average female hand"
she's a whole different person when her rapper isn't getting smoked (looked like she wanted to walk offstage in Chilla v Prep)
