I’d say Eazy Tha Block Captain and Geechi Gotti are the top guys who sell tickets aside from the Hitmans and Murda Mooks of the world
I don’t even think Surf was that “box office” like that, he was a great talker/promoter tho. Hitman is the box office draw…over everybody. I think Clips is over Surf too when it comes to numbers. Mook. Lux. Cassidy is box office too definitely (He’s ass tho). Them three hardly ever pop out…Mook has been more than usual lately tho

I know Surf was able to get the computers 'puting on Social Media and backed it up with room shakers (when he had 3 rounds) Clips, Mook, Hitman, Lux, etc are all approaching 40+.

KOTD should harbor some of the blame for the cornyness they let flourish. All in all letting too many outsiders in fukked things up as well. Too many battlers that didn't even fukk with hip hop got big looks and opportunities that should have really went to battlers really from the culture. Once "big money" got involved leagues didn't handle it properly and fumbled the ball.

I tried following the battle rap scene...and on the real...it died around the time BET and em wanted to put their cac hands on the scene. Now everything is either commercialized or have high expectations, but mundane results. Most of the good battle rappers are washed as all hell, the newer ones rely on old ass bars from old ass washed battle rappers.
Don't get me started with the WWE theatrics to get people to buy a friggin PPV with a bunch of dudes doing stand up poetry
There's no connection to the streets and the grit, like the early days of going to a hood spot to get that latest Smack DVD and a mixtape. The game is dead and quite frankly, Smack and em did it to themselves for trying to turn something made with soul, into an enterprise of washed and memories of when it used to be good.
