The WWE video production team is the one constant good thing they done all these years. But they really kinda had to reach to create animosity between Brock and Orton they came up together in OVW, both got drafted in 02 then Brock squashed Orton, and never once crossed paths again until two weeks ago

They even have a small backstory they could use, where Brock almost challenged Orton for the WWE title two years ago, but didn't. Reference that in promos, "Brock would've taken your WWE Championship from you at Wrestlemania 30 Randy Orton, but he was too busy being the 1 in 21 and 1, blah blah".

Or that time in the same year when Orton RKO'd Heyman.

There's built in history (not much) but it'll go entirely ignored when it shouldn't.
