- With NBC Universal and WWE expected to announce a new TV deal any time soon, there is a lot of speculation that this will mean SmackDown goes live on Tuesday nights. Jim Ross also believes this will happen. He tweeted today:

"If nbc/universal keeps @WWE programming w/ a significant right fee increase, I'm guessing Smackdown goes LIVE on Tuesdays on SyFy."

On one hand I'd much prefer a live Smackdown. On the other hand, Tuesday is too soon. Move that shyt back to Thursdays. Live.

Does it even feel like that? I haven't watched for a few weeks and I don't feel I've missed anything storyline wise.

That's all the more reason why they need a brand split. It makes ZERO sense for RAW to be 3 hours and have all these other shows and PPV's throughout the week and some wrestlers hardly get any time throughout the week. They need to split it up.

How would the people who want a split like to see the roster divided? I think they'd need to bring some more NXT guys up for this to work. With the WWE's deavour policy right now they may need to do this in the future though, then again they could just not use people :russ:

It's not immense progression but they do touch on some. The Shield made up on Smackdown (after Rollins walked out), the first time the Shield was layed out was on Smackdown (when Real Americans, 3MB, NAO, Rybaxel and Kane destroyed them), Batista officially turned heel on Smackdown, I'm sure there's more I can't remember. Plus Bo is coming so reason enough to watch.

Smackdown has a lot of good, entertaining matches. More so than RAW. Since you have less story, you get more wrestling.

Smackdown started off as a extention of Raw stories. Then in 2002 they did the split.
furthermore,

Smackdown is best served to get some sort of identity outside of what RAW presents

for example

Raw - A-show, main eventers and top storylines. WWEWHC and Tag Titles defended. Story telling matches
Smackdown - Grade A WORKERS show. matches are slightly longer and maybe more IWC fan favorites.
Main event - Mid card show, IC belt frequently defended or exchanged on it.
NXT - A newbie version of raw and smackdown
Superstars - Kid show with low card and kid favorites...high flyers, charactors like sandow and santino

raw should sell Special Events...smackdown should put on five stars...main event should build stars for the other shows...and NXT is what it is now.

Man there's so much talent that a split roster could work, they'd just have to make smackdown not seem so below raw and booking has to be strong. And like you said there's a great deal of talent in NXT waiting to be called up as well

split roster books you into a corner and derails the chance to have certain matches without convoluted drafts and trades and crap. It doesn't help anything.

That fukks their house show schedule and the days "off" the roster has. A live show on Thursdays is doable but I don't see them going for it.

Not at al. Talent usually has Wednesday and Thursday off. Now they'd have Tuesday and Wednesday off. House shows would stay the same, Friday-Sunday.

Smackdown should be where the NXT can slowly move up into the storylines and the Main Roster feuds. Smackdown is being wasted on Fridays. The Main Roster is STACKED and so is NXT with plenty of talent and not everybody's shining enough on RAW. Some talent is missed on RAW on a 3 and 15 minute show.

Exactly. There was a time where Smackdown was better than RAW.

I disagree. Smackdown is where the other people should be if they are getting time on RAW and that could be where the NXT talent could start.
