The show that averages 3.1 million viewers on Friday nights and beats all Friday primetime viewing on any cable network is moving to Thursday nights on Syfy beginning January 15 at 8pm ET. With nearly 800 original episodes, SmackDown is the second longest-running weekly episodic program in U.S. television history, only behind WWE’s other flagship program, Monday Night Raw.

Why? The ratings probably shyt on any thing on scifi and kills TNA
I'm not a SyFy exec so I couldn't care less about what ratings SD gets them. I think the less wrestling shows WWE has, the better the chances are that what's left will improve. And SD has been terrible and irrelevant for years.

I can definitely see SyFy trying to phase out WWE at some point though since they have announced they are going to be making a play at taking on more dramatic and bigger budgeted series. A lot of SyFy's regular watchers hate that wrestling is on the channel anyway.

Laziness is laziness. The amount of content don't matter anymore. They got a 3 hour Raw show...and put a title change situation after SAID 3 hour show on a streaming Network. Unbelievable. That's the WWE of 2014.

Well they have a 5 year deal already so really that's locked in :yeshrug: the important think is the network . They increased the ratings anyway with the match being after the show ! Wwe is preparing for the future man
