Put security freezes on your files with Equifax, Experian, Transunion, LexisNexis, and Innovis.

Use some form of 2-factor authentication for your email, financial and credit services.

Use strong and different passwords. You can utilize a password manager to create and save passwords across different devices. I use Chrome/Google for free but there are others out there.

Setup email or text notifications for your credit and debit cards for purchases.

Use only cash or credit cards (only if you can pay the bill in full each month). Although you're not responsible for fraudulaunt debit card transactions, it can be a hassle to deal with if the bank takes their time in crediting your account. Excluding ATMs, I haven't used a debit card in probably 10 years.

All this and don't use the same password on multiple sites. Don't answer random calls from unknown numbers let them leave a message.
Don't open random links in texts and emails. Don't leave your phone open around prostitutes and don't take prostitutes back to where you stay.

Close/freeze your credit with all 3 agencies.

This way you can keep your score going up but no one can open a new line of credit under your name.

That means no one's going to be opening utilities credit cards or taking out loans without a phone call to you to open your credit.

When you need to open a new line of credit for something you're going to have to make a phone call which is the only drawback
