Because if you’re playing competitively, who wants to die to some item bs? Maybe in a casual/party environment sure but stage hazards and items are trash when you’re playing 1v1 and both players are actually good.

I’m not tryna diss anybody but a lot y’all in here sound like y’all just don’t play at that level where your tech, fundamentals, and matchup knowledge need to be on point to succeed. The coli smash discord been running for a couple years now and I don’t think we’ve ever played with items on



And if you’re only playing against people online in quickplay then you’re playing in what’s probably the most toxic and frustrating meta for the game

If anyone even suggested items they should be removed from the Discord immediately

This is not true. They specifically created smaller stages for intimate one on one battles. Items are for fags.

Smash with items is fun when you’re playing 4 player party mode, 1 on 1 you never turn items on.

And final smash are usually set to low of turned off regardless as well that shyt gets annoying when people are just chasing those shyts every 5 seconds and stopping the entire match to do some instant kill bs. Ruins the entire flow of the game

If you're trying to play smash bros competitive, then you're probably some autistic weirdo. Most of the "fundamentals" are bugs that was never meant to be in the game in the first place. All that wave dashing and shyt is not what the creator intended for the game. Smash is boring as fukk when you strip it down to the bare minimum and try to figure out ways to exploit the game engine for some trash ass competitive 1v1.


If you wanna play competitive, then buy a real fighting game that was meant for the shyt. You have so many options to choose from. Mortal Kombat, Street fighter, dbfz, guilty gear, blaz blue, Tekken, soul caliber, killer instinct, etc. Are all games that were created with competitive gameplay in mind. Nintendo has been telling yall nikkas for years that smash bros is not that type of game. The shyt is the fighting game version of Mario kart.

Right. It's part of its fun. Imagine turning off half of a game's fun for some sort of...chest beating competitve's sake, trying to be something the game wasn't even intending on being. Smash community is straight up idiots.

I turn all items on and use the stage switching map for the most chaos possible its super fun with friends, I hate whenever my friends try to get sweaty in the game like we at Evo or something

The funny thing is people have told me the samething about street fighter and other games.

I tell them I'm plus after a move and they look at me like an alien.

I explain what I'm talking about any the 1st response is.

"I'm just trying to play and mash buttons"

They not trying to know frame data, spacing, whiff punishing or extended combos.

Same deal with smash, but instead the non smash players turn into the casuals "I'm just trying to mash buttons and do moves"
