I don't think this is even sort of true.
The media may have disliked Bonds, but he won 4-straight MVP awards and 7 total. Awards voted on the same writers who were supposedly out to get him.
And I have NO IDEA why people think ARod was targeted by the media. Outside of the nonsensical NY Daily News and Page 6 shyt or whatever, I have never viewed ARod coverage that way.

Bonds was made the scapegoat because he was the highest profile player at the time of the steroid scandal. Combine that with the fact that he gave zero fukks about how the media received him...I'll be nice and leave race out of it because the first two facts are indisputible wheras the the last one is up for debates amongst...a certain subset of individuals....
A-Rod is the highest profile player to be caught in the post-Bonds era when there are now clear cut, well defined rules about PEDs. Not only that but there is also evidence to suggest that he tried to cover shyt up or bring in other players into the Biogenesis ring, allegations that we will certainly learn of in the coming weeks since he is appealing the suspension.

The ARod hate started in Texas. The media and general public started to misplace their anger ARod when he signed for 250 Million Dollars, leaving with Texas with no room to make any significant moves - as if the finger pointers would have turned down that amount of money...yea right!

Cards only hired McGwire after he came out and admitted he used. Before that he wasn't saying anything. And the person in Congress that was tearing him apart was St. Louis' own William Lacy Clay.
He also has a statue that hasn't been unveiled, because of the steroids.
Cardinals treated Big Mac with respect after he manned up so to speak. Something Bonds has yet to do (and I wish he did).

Josh Hamilton vs any black athlete with off the field issues. Josh was a crackhead for nearly a decade. Fell of the wagon numerous times since his miraculous recovery. YET he is seen as a story of redemption, a good guy who had a illness and had Jesus personally come down from heaven and healed him with his grace. While other black athletes with substance abuse issues are just portrayed as incorrigible junkies no better than the homeless addicts on every corner in the ghetto.
T.O vs Brett Favre. Favre was an a$$hole, pill-popper who did nothing to help his teammates (Rodgers), only cared about his stats and holding teams hostages. Yet T.O. who never has been in any trouble off the field, and was admittedly an a$$hole, is seen in a VILLAIN role. Bonds being blackballed was and is shameful. No argument. But ignoring that McGwire confessed while Bonds denied is being ignorant of the situation. Also, their respective post-playing careers is an entirely different subject than how they were covered.
Braun and ARod did not do relatively the same thing. ARod is accused of attempting to sabotage the investigation and recruit other clients to the clinic. It's been reported that the evidence against him dwarfed what they had against Braun. And again, the evil white media didn't have a part in this either. And while we're on this subject, Braun and Nelson Cruz also did "relatively the same thing"...and they got different punishments as well.
Basically, if you're going to open your argument shytting on the media and accusing them of racism in their coverage, you might want to focus on things they actually control.
I'm not disagreeing with your larger point or most of your examples, but you can't pain every case with this same brush and ignore very important specific differences.
