The real issue is even if they ban guns, that won't stop guns from coming here illegally. Criminals and felons in most cases aren't legally armed. So banning guns would just leave all the criminals with guns, and innocent civilians without em. Not to mention there's more guns than there are people in the US. Might as well allow people to stay armed. In states and cities with open carry, people are less likely to step on each other's toes cuz they don't know if the other person is strapped or not.
