Smilez and Southstar's song got love because Ja Rule put out Mesmerized a few weeks after theirs and the song and the video especially was wack. The anti Ja Rule thing was in full force and people were tired of him singing on songs. I still remember that song being one of the few songs to debut as a new joint on 106 and Park and got shat on by the audience live. Smilez and Southstar's song got more love than usual because of that.
