I would like to see a Friday Prequel with it the events surrounding Craig getting fired. I wanna see the tape. They can now even run it back and use Ice Cube's son to play Craig still don't know who plays young Smokey tho.
I think the running theme of the movie was that Smokey (and Craig too for just hanging out with him) played too much and were kind of immature habitual line steppers so their families didn't really believe they were in all "that" much trouble until the very end. I think with Craig losing his job in the beginning and his girlfriend playing on the phone when his mom picked up the phone and Smokey showing up over to his house all the time...those scenes were setting up how Craig's family loved him but thought he was immature because of the people he was around and probably just thought he wanted to borrow the money to smoke "tweed" as his pops said with his best friend ominously named "Smokey." Even when his dad caught him with the gun, he didn't realize Craig was in a real serious situation and instead encouraged him to fight with his hands if it came down to it.
I don't think any of them realized until around this scene when Craig's mom and Smokey's mom are now outside looking for them how serious a situation it was with multiple people (Big Worm and his hitmen plus Deebo as well) after them. For example, contrast the earlier scene when Craig's sister Dana laughs at him when he asks to borrow money from her with how worried she now appears to be in this scene along with the rest of the families.

This is a really good perspective on this
It's clear that this wasn't Smokey's first time fronting on Worm given he was going to air him out over 200.
"Sell ya mama car...don't say nothing stupid like that" - Day DayHe could have sold his chain too if it was that serious
This is nothing.
Nino Brown once beat a dude with a baseball bat and set him on fire...all because he was short FIVE DOLLARS.
Adjusted for inflation and it still no more than $400![]()
this was hall of fame level disrespectSmoke tried to short that man. To his face! Sitting there counting the same money like that man extra stupid![]()

I think it could be good if done right....but I'm also pretty easy on movies I don't take them too seriouslyPlease no.

Same thing with Smokey about to get his hand on that $200.00 he and Deebo got from Stanley…….but Ezelle ruined that for himThanks and this is where I give the film writer and director a lot of credit because they kind of had to set up a situation where Craig/Smokey's families didn't quite realize how bad the situation was in the beginning so that now a big part of the movie then became them running around (and into) the various interesting/funny/threatening neighborhood characters. If the family had understood the seriousness immediately and given them the money upfront, the movie wouldn't have been so good and suspenseful with so many other people in it which is also why they set up the girlfriend being soooooo close to giving Craig the money...
