I can't believe some people keep snakes as pets
While I personally think dressing up snakes or any pet is ridiculous, keeping them as pets isn't that big of a deal. If the type of snake you choose to keep is venomous, you can have them fixed so that the venom is a non issue. If I remember correctly it's the same procedure used when we men get vasectomies. Also, they are generally kept in a glass containment so it's not like they are roaming around the house and even if they were they can't kill anybody except a mouse stupid enough sneak in the house and that's how they get fed anyway. Many folks have made a killing monetizing videos on Youtube of them feeding their pet snakes with store bought gerbils or rats.
More people are killed and attacked by pet dogs than snakes but nobody rails against dog ownership. None of my business though.
Sorry folks I just hate that snakes get the bad rep they get.
They are actually great for rodent control in the wild and, generally, you won't run into one and actually get attacked unless the creature is backed into a corner. Most of the really hostile species of snakes reside overseas and don't run into many humans anyway. Otherwise they are very scary animals and will run if they have an out.People talk about snakes the same way bigots talk about us, no lie. And most of the hatred is from the same place, disgust on sight due to ingrained prejudice and lack of personal interaction.
